How can I export specific languages from my Translation Memory?

Created on 17th April 2018 at 11:33 by Jamie O'Connell

You can export the content of a translation memory (TM) from a one2edit Language Set.

This export will be in the TMX file format.

Click 'Settings > Language Sets'

Click 'Settings > Language Sets' to open the 'Language Sets' window.

Click 'Open Set TM'

  1. Select the 'Language Set' from which you want to export
  2. Click 'Open Set TM'.

Select Languages to Export

Use the drop-down menus In the 'Set Translation Memory' window to select the languages that you wish to export.

NOTE:
Only one drop-down menu will be present at first. Once you have selected a language, the next drop-down menu will appear.

Click 'Export'

Click the 'Export' button to export the selected languages.

NOTE:
While you can export all languages at once, it is typically safer to export languages in blocks of two: one 'source' language and one 'target' language. This will help to prevent any issues when importing the TMX file into another system. If using this method, you should use the same 'source' language for all exports, and only change the 'target' language each time.

Choose Export Settings

  1. Choose the export options via the drop-down menu in the 'Translation Memory Export' window.
  2. Click the 'Export' button to continue.

NOTE:
Choosing 'All languages' will export all of the languages from the TM in a single TMX file, regardless of what languages you have selected via the drop-down menus.

Click 'Start Download'

Once the TMX file has been generated, you can download it using the 'Start Download' button.

You will be prompted to name the file and to choose a download location.
