The 'Frames' tab allows you to mark new frames as 'new' and link existing frames to updated versions of themselves.

Please note that if a frame was deleted and replaced during the checkout process, it will have been given a new ID by InDesign. In that case, you will need to link the frame to its old version. This tells one2edit™ that the frame is not brand new, but contains content that is already in a content group and workflow.

1. Pop-up menu:
Moving the cursor over a content marker displays a pop-up menu. Depending on if this is an image or a text frame, you will see different options.

• 'Reset': appears on image frames only. It will reset the image in this frame to the current image for all version documents.
• 'Mark as New': will mark the frame as a frame that is new to the document. This option will change to 'Clear' when a frame is linked or marked as 'new', allowing you to clear the status of the frame and choose a different one.
• 'Link': allows you to link this unrecognized frame in the new document to an existing frame in the old document. You can also do this by clicking on an unrecognized frame and then clicking on the same frame in the old master document.

Once a status has been chosen, the marker will change from yellow to green.

2. 'Mark all undone items as new on this spread':
You can mark all unrecognized frames within a document as 'new' with one button-click.

Our example above is a perfect place to use this button, because the entire spread is new and all of the frames on it are new to the document.

NOTE:
Care must be taken that no existing frames on the spread are shown with an 'unknown' status, or else all translations within those frames will be lost.

1. 'Mark all undone items as new on this spread':
If you are sure that all unrecognized segments on the spread are new to the document, then you can click this button. If you do use this button, you must take care that no existing segments on the spread are shown with an 'unknown' status, or else the translations for those segments will be lost.

2. 'Segments' window:
Open the 'Segments' window by clicking on 'Edit Segments' in a frame's pop-up menu, or by clicking on the frame. It is here that segments can be linked, unlinked, re-segmented, or changed to 'text' or 'delimiter'.

• Green segments are segments that were not changed in any way during the check-out procedure. These remain linked to each other by default.
• Yellow segments are segments in which only the style changed, or they are segments that have been manually linked by the user.
• Red segments are segments that have changed or have been added anew. You must manually link these to the 'old' segments if they are to remain within the translation/edit job. Otherwise, the unlinked 'New' segments are assumed to be new to the document. Red segments in the 'Old' column are assumed to have been deleted, and will be removed from the workflow.

3. Contextual Pop-up Menu:
The options in this menu will be different depending on whether you are accessing it via a green, yellow or red text segment.

• Link/Unlink: The option available will depend on if the text segment is already linked or not. Unlinking a segment will mark it as red.
• Reset: This option allows you to choose the 'Reset Versions' settings for any changes made to this specific segment. This will override the general reset settings chosen on the 'Versions' tab at the start. This option is not displayed for red ("new") segments, because they are new to the document and, therefore, cannot have been changed from an older version.
• Set type to Text: Click this option to change the segment from a 'delimiter' to 'text'.
• Set type to Delimiter: Click this option to change the segment from 'text' to a 'delimiter'.
• Split: Sometimes edits are made during the check-out that result in two or more sentences appearing in one segment. This may mean that the new segment cannot be properly matched to the old one. In this case, it is possible to re-segment the text so that it matches the segmentation of the original document. This typically results in one or more 'new' segments, in addition to a segment that is linked to an old segment (yellow).
