Every Adobe InDesign file (INDD file format) has 'proxy' images embedded in it. These proxy images are low-resolution versions of the high-res source images.

If any images are missing or outdated (i.e. InDesign Server cannot locate the image), the low-resolution 'proxy' image will be used. While this might not be obvious to the naked eye while zoomed out in one2edit™, zooming in will cause pixelation to be more pronounced. More importantly, you will not be able to export a high-resolution PDF if any links are missing or outdated.

NOTE:
The IDML file format (i.e. not an INDD file) contains no low-resolution proxy images. This is because it is a text-only XML file. If you use an IDML file to create a one2edit™ project, any missing links will simply show up as empty frames (gray boxes).

To open the 'Project Details' window, select the document and click 'Edit > Properties'.

You may also click the thumbnail of the document to achieve the same result.

1. Click the 'Links' tab to see the links that are used in this document.
2. If any links have a red 'X' beside them, then they are 'missing' (i.e. InDesign Server is unable to find nor render them).
3. The 'Validate' button will update any 'outdated' images by re-checking its original path. If the 'Path' field is not pointing to the one2edit asset space, then you will need to manually relink your image(s).

NOTE:
If you uploaded your links after creating the one2edit project, then you will need to manually relink the images. You can manually relink images from within the Master Document Editor 'Document Info' panel. Please see the lesson entitled 'How can I relink outdated links?'.

NOTE:
Links will also be marked with a red 'X' if they are 'outdated' (i.e. when the image itself has been changed outside of InDesign/one2edit). To correct this, please click the 'Validate' button.
