How can I ensure that my review does not start until all editing is done?

Created on 14th August 2015 at 15:01 by Jamie O'Connell

Completed job items can be committed to the next step at the discretion of the editor/translator.

This means that, for example, 50% of the job items could be sent for review, while the other 50% remain at the 'Edit/Translation' step.

It is, however, possible to ensure that all items (i.e. 100% of the job items) are marked as 'Done' before any are sent for review.

NOTE:
This setting only affects when a user is manually committing items to the next step. It does not affect the behavior of pre-translations or imported translation files. In other words, a pre-translation or import may still commit a partial job to the next workflow step, depending on their settings.

Select the "Commit to next step..." option in the step menu

Click the option '"Commit to next step" only possible when all items are done' to activate it for the 'Edit/Translation' workflow step.

Once you have done this, a checkmark will be set beside the option, as shown above.

This option will prevent users from committing any items to the following step until all active items at that step have been addressed (i.e. marked as 'Done' or marked as 'Accepted/Rejected').

NOTE:
The setting only applies to all 'active' items at the workflow step. Therefore, if a review step has 10 active items out of 100 (i.e. only 10 items were committed from the previous step), addressing those 10 items (e.g. marking them as 'Accepted') will fulfill the criteria for "all items" at that step.

NOTE:
This setting can be specified for each workflow step separately.

NOTE:
This setting is recommended to be changed only on paused workflows.
