What is the Temporary Translation Memory?

Created on 13th October 2026 at 14:16 by Jamie O'Connell

As translations are being made within one2edit™, a temporary database of translations is created.

These translations are not approved translations, and are clearly marked as such.

However, they can ease the translation process as a stepping stone, as the temporary translations are available across all jobs using the same source and target languages.

NOTE: The temporary translation memory remains even after a workflow has finished. Translations that have been reviewed and approved should, however, be committed to the permanent translation memory (via the Commit Translations workflow action).

Translate a Segment

  1. Translate a segment in a job.
  2. Set the segment's status to Done.

Temporary Translations in Translation Panel

When you next encounter this text in a job that uses the same languages from the same Language Set, the temporary translation will be shown.

Temporary translations are marked as orange to indicate a translation that was marked as Done in a job, but is not from the approved TM database.

Approved TM entries are marked green.

NOTE: If Translate with > o2e Translation Memory (approved) is selected, then no temporary translation memory entries will be displayed.
