How can I export specific Languages from my Translation Memory?

Created on 13th October 2026 at 14:16 by Jamie O'Connell

You can export some languages from a one2edit™ translation memory as a TMX file.

This can be useful if you plan to tidy up the TMX file using a third-party CAT tool, or simply for backup reasons.

NOTE: Translations should always be exported in pairs, with both a source language and a target language.

Settings > Language Sets

In the main navigation menu, click Settings > Language Sets.

Open Translation Memory

Open the translation memory (TM) of the set by clicking Open Set TM in its option menu.

Export Selected Languages

  1. Select the languages that you wish to export from the drop-down menus.
  2. In the action menu, click Export.

NOTE: While it is possible to export all languages at once, it can be safer to export languages in blocks of two: one common source language and one target language. This will help to prevent any issues when importing the TMX file into another system. When exporting in pairs like this, you should use a common source language in all exports, and only change the target language each time.

  1. Select what you want to export from the TM. In this case, it is: Selected languages.

NOTE: Choosing All languages will export all of the languages from the TM in a single TMX file, regardless of what languages you have selected.

  1. Click the Export button to export the file.

The file will be saved to your local machine using your browser settings (e.g. straight to the Downloads folder).
