Why does my generated Download Link not Work?

Created on 12th October 2026 at 15:48 by Jamie O'Connell

Any download links that are generated automatically by one2edit™ will expire after 7 days. At this time, the generated file will also be deleted. This stops the one2edit™ system from filling up with old files.

This lesson will show you how to insert the link's expiry date into the email containing the download link.

NOTE: This expiry date only applies to files that are generated for a download link.

NOTE: Ensure that the filename does not contain any slashes ("/" or "\").

Insert Expiry-Date Variable

When exporting a document either directly or via a Workflow Action, you can add the variable {download.expire} to the email text.

This will become the download expiry date for the generated file, i.e., 7 days from when this action is called and the file is generated.

If you wish to add the variable using the Insert Variables... menu, the variable in question is named Download Expire Date.
