How can I edit a Text Segment that is fully in Overset?

Created on 17th September 2026 at 15:33 by Olaf Walther

If a text segment is fully in overset, it is not possible to click that segment directly in the document preview.

Open a full-overset segment for editing:

  • via the Next Item button in the editor.
  • via the Segment menu available in the Structure panel or status marker.
  • via the Edit button in the Selection Info panel.

NOTE: If the text segment is not shown in the structure panel, it cannot be edited.

Via the Editor

  1. If you have the editor open, and the next segment is fully in overset, click the Next Item button.
  2. The selection will move to the next item in the frame, and open it in the editor.

Via the Segment Menu

  1. In the Structure panel, find the overset segment and click Edit in its menu.
  2. Alternatively, click the segment's status marker to open its menu. Then click Edit.

Via the Selection Info Panel

  1. Select the overset segment in the Structure panel.
  2. Click to open the Selection Info panel.
  3. Click the Edit button to open the editor for the selected item.
