How do I create a Workflow Template via the Workflow Editor?

Created on 14th September 2026 at 11:38 by Olaf Walther

If you reuse the same workflow frequently, you should save it as a Workflow Template.

A workflow template can be saved directly from the Workflow Editor.

Open the Workflow Editor

Double-click on a version document to open its Workflow Editor.

Assign Empty Workflow

There are two ways we can assign an empty workflow to this document:

  1. Click the document's kebab menu, and choose Assign Empty Workflow.
  2. Click the Workflow button.

NOTE: If there are multiple Content Groups defined in the source-language document, then you will see multiple workflow tracks. Each track will match the name of a Content Group.

Populate Workflow and Save as Template

  1. The workflow track will have the same name as the Content Group created in your source-language document.
  2. Populate the workflow as usual, with the target language, users, actions, etc.
  3. Click the document's kebab menu and choose Save as Template.
  1. Select a target folder for your template, or create a new folder.
  2. Give your workflow template a meaningful name.
  3. Click Save.

NOTE: The folders listed here are the ones from the Workflows area.

Template now in Workflows Area

Your Workflow Template has now been saved to the Workflows area.

You can assign this Template the next time you need a workflow of this kind.
