Navigating your Document in one2edit™

Created on 10th June 2026 at 13:13 by Jamie O'Connell

There are different ways to navigate a document within the one2edit™ Job Editor.

  • Navigation between pages/spreads can be done via the spread thumbnails, and the drop-down menu in the toolbar.
  • More granular navigation can be done via the document structure in the Structure panel.

Navigating Document Spreads/Pages

  1. Spread Thumbnails: The pages and spreads of a document are displayed as thumbnails at the bottom of the editor. You can click on a spread to navigate to that spread.
    • If you are zoomed in, a box will indicate the portion of the spread shown in your window. Clicking and dragging that box will drag your view around.
    • The page number is displayed at the top of each page thumbnail.
  2. Drop-down Menu: This menu in the toolbar contains a list of all the document's spreads. Click on any spread to open its preview in the editor.
    • The page numbers of each spread are shown in brackets. If a spread contains multiple pages, this will be a comma-separated list of page numbers.

NOTE: The current spread is highlighted in the default colour of the workspace. If you have zoomed in on the spread, the highlighting area will be smaller because it represents the area in the preview. This highlighted area can be dragged to move your view.

NOTE: If there are more spreads than fit within in the width of the window, you can click-and-drag to scroll them.

NOTE: If a spread is greyed-out, it does not contain any items from the current job.

Navigating the Document Structure

  1. Click to open the Structure panel.
  2. All the spreads from the document are displayed here. Simply double-click a spread to navigate there.
  3. Selecting an item in the structure also selects it in the document preview, and vice versa.

NOTE: All items from within the document are displayed in the document structure. Double-clicking on any item (e.g. a text-segment) will navigate to the spread on which that item is located.

What is a Masterspread?

There will be at least one Masterspread at the top of the spread-selection menu.

A Masterspread is a template spread consisting of parent pages created in Adobe® InDesign®.

These spreads act as templates for spreads in the document, and may contain items such as dynamic page numbers, a logo, etc.

NOTE: If any content items on these spreads are added to a Content Group, then the appropriate spread(s) will be displayed in the thumbnail section at the bottom of the Job Editor. Otherwise, they are not displayed, as they do not contain content relevant to the Job.
