How to keep older version(s) of your CC apps when performing an update

Created on 15th November 2019 at 17:39 by Jamie O'Connell

By default, Adobe Creative Cloud (CC) will replace your older apps when you update them.

However, this is not always the desired outcome.

In the example below, we are going to update Adobe InDesign, while ensuring that any older versions are kept on our computer alongside the new version.

Click 'Update'

Click the 'Update' button for the app you wish to update.

Uncheck 'Remove old versions' and click 'Continue'

Uncheck the 'Remove old versions' box to keep any older versions of the software on your machine.

You may now safely click the 'Continue' button to install the new version of the software.

Any existing versions of your app will still be available

Both the old and new versions of the app are now available.
