Edit Frames in a v4 Source Document

Created on 10th February 2026 at 18:00 by Olaf Walther

Frame-geometry can be manipulated in one2edit™ source documents.

NOTE: If a text frame has auto-size options enabled, you may not be able to change its geometry. Instead, its location may change, depending on how you attempt to resize it.

Edit Frame

The Frame Editor can be accessed via the frame menu in two locations:

  1. via the frame's option menu in the Structure panel.
  2. via the menu icon in the top-right of the frame itself in the preview (displayed when the frame is selected).

Additionally, you can double-click the frame in the preview to start the Frame Editor. When doing this, however, you must take care not to double-click any frame content, as that will open the content editor instead (i.e. the text editor or image editor).

Frame Editor

  1. When the Frame Editor is active, the Frame Editor panel will appear.
  2. Use the handles at the edges of the frame to change the frame's size and rotation.
  3. Click and drag the frame from the middle to move it within the spread.

Frame Editor Panel

The frame-editing options are also available in the Frame Editor panel.

  • Reference Point: Select the reference point in the top left, from where values will be calculated.
  • X & Y: Set the X and Y position of the frame.
  • W & H: Set the width and height of the frame.
  • SX & SY: Set the X and Y scaling of the frame.
  • R: Set the frame rotation angle.
  • SK: Skew the frame.

In addition, there are two buttons:

  1. Maintain Aspect Ratio: Lock the aspect ratio of the frame with this button.
  2. Lock Scaling Factor: Lock the scaling factor (i.e. scale the content with the frame).

Apply Changes

To close the Frame Editor and apply your changes, press the Esc key on your keyboard, or click outside of the frame in the preview.
