Create v4 Language Sets

Created on 05th February 2026 at 09:36 by Jamie O'Connell

Each Language Set in one2edit™ contains its own Translation Memory (TM).

This means that it is possible to have Language Sets dedicated to a specific brand or product. These Language Sets can contain the wording and tone used for that particular brand/product.

Add Language Set

Select a target folder for the Language Set and click the Add Language Set button, which is the + (plus) button.

Name the Language Set

  1. Type a name for the Language Set.
  2. Click Apply.

Assign Languages to Set

  1. Click the Languages tab. It is from this tab that you can assign the various languages to this Language Set.
  1. Filter the language list by typing into the filter box.
  2. Select and drag the desired languages from the list on the right. Multi-select is possible.
  3. Select the Hyphenation Language for each language in your list. This helps Adobe® InDesign® Server to correctly hyphenate words, along with automatically using localized punctuation such as quotation marks, etc.
  4. Once all languages have been assigned, click Save.

NOTE: If the chosen language is not in the list of hyphenation languages, it means that Adobe® InDesign® does not have hyphenation rules for that language. In such a case, you should leave it as Neutral.

NOTE: It is vital that you also add your source language (the language from which you are translating) to your Language Set. Failure to do so will mean that translations cannot be saved to your Translation Memory.

Language Set Created

Congratulations! You have created your first Language Set!

When a Language Set is highlighted, the languages contained within are displayed in the Languages panel, as shown.

Modify Existing Language Sets

Each Language Set has a context menu containing the following options.

  • Properties: Open this Language Set for editing (e.g. adding or removing languages).
  • Open Set TM: Open the Translation Memory (TM) view for this Language Set. This will allow you to check the translations contained within this set.
  • Duplicate: Duplicate this Language Set.
  • Copy: Copy this Language Set for pasting into another folder.
  • Cut: Cut this Language Set for moving to another folder.
  • Delete: Delete this Language Set and all of the translations contained within.
