v4: Default Import Status, Job Handling & Panels

Created on 05th February 2026 at 09:33 by Olaf Walther

Control some default settings for jobs, as well as the panels seen within a one2edit™ job.

Default Import Status, Job Handling & Panels

  • Default Translation Import Job Status: This is the default workflow status given to text that is imported via a translation file (e.g. o2et, xliff, etc.). For example, a translation file is exported for translation in CAT tool, the imported segments will be set to this status by default.
  • Job Handling: When a user is assigned to two or more consecutive workflow steps, you can choose to Combine these multiple, consecutive jobs into one single job for that user, or to Split them into their multiple, distinct jobs.
  • Default Panels: Set which panels are visible for users who are working on a job in one2edit™. These panels include the document structure, the notes panel, the workflow panel, etc.

NOTE: You can override the Default Translation Import Job Status when performing your import by choosing the status from a drop-down menu. This setting only dictates the option selected in that drop-down menu by default.

Change the Default Translation Import Job Status

Click on the drop-down menu to the right of Default Translation Import Job Status and choose an option from the list.

  • Needs Translation: The status of any changed segments will remain unchanged (i.e. orange), and not marked as Done (i.e. green).
  • Translated: The status of all changed segments will be changed to Done (i.e. green) upon import. These segments will remain editable in the Translation workflow step, and must be committed for review by a user.
  • Translation Finished: All changed segments will be automatically committed to the next workflow step upon import.

Change the default job handling

Choose an option from the Job Handling menu.

  • Combine Jobs: If a user is assigned to multiple, successive workflow steps, the assignments will be combined into a single job for that user.
  • Split Jobs: The system will assign a job to the user for every single workflow step, even if the user is assigned to multiple, successive steps.

NOTE: This option is only important if the same user is assigned to multiple, consecutive workflow steps.

Change the Default Panels

Check or un-check the boxes as appropriate to enable or disable panels in the Job Editor.

NOTE: These settings will apply to the Job Editor for all users at all points in all workflows, even admins and reviewers.

Aside: What are Panels?

Panels are the buttons on the left and right of the screen when using the Job Editor.
