Knowledge Base / Getting Started with one2edit™ v3 / For Everyone – Spelling Panel

Why are correctly-spelled words underlined in red?

Created on 08th December 2016 at 17:55 by Jamie O'Connell

For 'Edit' workflows and master documents, there is no workflow containing a target language.

Therefore, one2edit will use the language that is set up in the InDesign document itself.

If the styled language does not match the language of the text, then you will see erroneous spelling errors.

Update the InDesign language

A style in InDesign may have a language associated with it. If that language is not the same as the language of the document text, then the incorrect dictionary will be used.

  1. The spelling language is 'Detect automatically' by default.
  2. You can see that many English words are marked as errors, even though they are spelled correctly.
  3. Although you can manually change the language for any selected text via the 'Character' section of the 'Text Formats' panel, this will be applied as a style override. The best option is to update the paragraph style itself via a checkout/check-in/diff procedure.

NOTE:

It is not possible to change the styled language for the document as a whole in one2edit. This must be done by editing the paragraph styles in InDesign desktop.
