Manually creating or editing a Content Group

Created on 25th November 2016 at 12:11 by Jamie O'Connell

In order for content to be editable within a job, that content must be placed into a Content Group.

This lesson will demonstrate how to create content groups within a project (i.e. master document), and populate them with the content that you wish to edit/translate.

Open the Master Document Editor

Content Groups are created within the master document.

If you do not already have the master document open, double-click on it to open the Master Document Editor.

NOTE:
If you have used the Assistant to create your project, then your content groups may already have been created.

Create a new Content Group

Create a new Content Group

Click the 'New Group' icon at the top-left of the screen.

This opens the 'New Content Group' window.

NOTE:
Double-clicking on an existing Content Group tab will allow you to edit the settings for that Content Group.

Set up the Content Group

Set up the Content Group
  1. Name: Give the Content Group a name.
  2. Color: Choose a color for the group. Any content assigned to this group will be highlighted in this color when the cursor is placed over that content.
  3. Type: Choose between 'Edit Group' and 'Translation Group' as the group type.
  4. Language: If you have chosen 'Translation Group', you will need to choose the language of the source document (i.e. the language of the master document). This is used to make translation-memory matches.
  5. Content Rules: You can drag your content rules to these fields from the 'Settings > Content Rules' window. Rules in the 'Edit' area are for the 'Edit/Translation' step only. Rules in the 'Review' area apply to all review/approval steps in the workflow.
  6. When you have set up the Content Group as desired, click 'Save'.

NOTE:
Please keep in mind that the 'Language' field refers to the source language of the master document itself, not to the target translation language.

You will now see your content group displayed in the tabs at the top of the one2edit™ screen.

NOTE:
Double-clicking on an existing Content Group tab will allow you to edit the settings for that Content Group.
