Knowledge Base / one2edit™ v3 User Interface Description / Projects Tab - Menus

Projects > Menu: Edit

Created on 18th November 2016 at 17:03 by Jamie O'Connell

This section describes the 'Edit' menu in the 'Projects' tab.

Important:

Please note that this section only describes the menu options at a high-level. For more in-depth explanations, please refer to the appropriate parts of the manual.

'Edit > Cut'

The 'Cut' command is used when moving a document or project from one location to another. If a master document is selected, then the entire project (master and version documents) will be cut.

NOTE:

In contrast to copying a file, the original document or project will disappear from its original location (in this case, the 'Recipes' folder) when it is pasted to its new location. (cf. 'Edit > Paste')

'Edit > Paste'

After cutting (or copying) a document, click 'Paste' to move it to the selected location, e.g. the documents folder. Any version documents will be moved along with the master document.

NOTE:

After pasting, the original document or project will be deleted from its original spot. (cf. 'Edit > Cut')

'Edit > Copy & Paste'

'Edit > Copy & Paste'

The 'Copy' command is used when copying documents from one folder to another within one2edit™.

The 'Paste' command creates the copy in whatever folder is selected.

NOTE:

In contrast to the cut-and-paste combination, the original documents (1) remain in the original location. The copied document (2) can be identified by the words 'Copy of' preceding the original document title.

'Edit > Duplicate'

'Edit > Duplicate'

This command duplicates the selected document in the selected folder. This is similar to a copy/paste action within one folder. However, when duplicating a project, there are several options for the duplication of the version documents:

  • None: the master document is duplicated, but any corresponding version documents shall not be duplicated. In other words, the master document is the only duplicate document created.
  • Copy selected: you are given the option to select specific version documents that will be copied to the new, duplicate project. Duplicates of the selected version documents will be available in both the new and original projects.
  • Move selected: you are given the option to select specific version documents that will be moved to the new, duplicate project. Any selected version documents will only be available in the new project. These same versions will no longer be attached to the original project.

'Edit > Delete'

'Edit > Delete'

The 'Delete' command allows you to delete documents or folders that you no longer need. Both master and version documents can be deleted.

NOTE:

Deleting a master document is the same as deleting an entire project. All of the version documents will also be deleted from the system.

'Edit > Properties'

'Edit > Properties'

Click 'Edit > Properties' to open the 'Project Details' window.
