Creating a Content Group in a one2edit™ Master Document

Created on 08th December 2016 at 17:55 by Jamie O'Connell

The content of a project in one2edit™ can be split up and assigned to different groups. For example, the translation group may only have access to the text, not the images. Whereas an image-localisation group may have access to the images but not the text. In this lesson you will go through the steps for creating a new content group in a one2edit project.

Open the Master Document Editor

To open the master document for editing, double-click on the newly created project file on the right-hand side of your one2edit™ window.

The Master Document Editor

The Master Document Editor

You should now see a preview of the master document.

It is possible to edit the document in this view, but that is not something that will be done in this lesson.

Instead, you are going to create content groups for those that will edit and translate your document.

Create a Content Group

Create a Content Group

Click on the 'New Group' icon at the top-left of the screen. This brings up the 'New Content Group' panel.

Set up the Content Group

Set up the Content Group
  1. Give the group a name.
  2. Choose a colour for the group. Any content assigned to this group will be highlighted in this colour when the cursor is placed over that content.
  3. Choose the 'Translation Group' as the group type.
  4. Finally, choose a language.
  5. Click 'Save'.

NOTE:
The 'language' field here refers to the language of the master document, not to the target translation language. In this case, the master document is in US English.

NOTE:
Assign content rules to the 'Content Rules (Policies)' fields to control the editing-rights of this content group during a job. Content Rules are outside the scope of this 'Getting Started' document.

Content Group Tab

Content Group Tab

You should now see your content group displayed in the tabs at the top of the one2edit™ screen.

Next, you will need to add content to this group.
