How to manually set the source of fonts for a project

Created on 08th December 2016 at 17:55 by Jamie O'Connell

When a project is created in one2edit™, the fonts used in the project documents need to be available to InDesign Server.

You can manually set the location of the fonts for a project under the 'Fonts' tab of the 'Project Details' window.

The options are:

  • all font packages on the system (i.e. those uploaded via 'Settings > Font Packages')
  • a specific font package that was uploaded to the system via 'Settings > Font Packages'
  • the ‘Document fonts’ subfolder from the uploaded InDesign package
  • any combination of the above

NOTE:

If you have composite font files, you must ensure that the 'Document fonts' folder contains all of the individual fonts used by those composite font files. In other words, the composite font files and the fonts addressed by those files must be present in the 'Document fonts' folder of the uploaded InDesign package.

Click 'Edit > Properties > Fonts'

  1. Select a project.
  2. Click 'Edit > Properties' to open the 'Project Details' window.
  3. Open the 'Fonts' tab.

  • 'Use all font packages': uses fonts from all font packages that were uploaded to this workspace via 'Settings > Font Packages'
  • 'Choose font package': allows you to choose a specific font package that was uploaded to this workspace via 'Settings > Font Packages', ignoring all other fonts
  • 'Choose font folder': allows you to choose a specific folder in the asset project that contains the fonts to be used, ignoring all other fonts
  1. Select an option from the menu.
  2. If 'Choose font folder' was selected, you must now click the 'Choose' icon. This will open the 'Asset Browser' window, allowing you to choose a folder containing the fonts for this project (e.g. the 'Document fonts' folder from the uploaded InDesign package).

NOTE:

If 'Choose font package' is selected, another drop-down menu appears listing all font packages that have been uploaded to the workspace.
