Import Status, Job Handling & Default Panels

Created on 18th January 2013 at 19:05 by Jamie O'Connell

This section can control the default settings for jobs, as well as the panels seen within a one2edit™ job.

Import Status, Job Handling & Default Panels

  • Default Translation Import Job Status: This is the default status given to any piece of translated text that is returned from an exported file. For example, if a translation file is exported for a 3rd party translation management system (TMS) and translated, the imported segments will be set to this status.
  • Job Handling: This sets the default status for successive workflow steps that may be assigned to the same user. The options are to combine the successive steps into one job, or to split them into two distinct jobs.
  • Default Panels: This allows an administrator to set what panels are visible by default for a user who is working within a document. These panels include things like the document structure, the notes panel, or even the translation panel.

Change the default status for imported jobs

Click on the drop-down menu to the right of 'Default Translation Import Job Status' and choose an option from the list.

If 'Translated' is chosen, the segments will be marked as translated, but will require a user interaction to move them to the next workflow step. This action is opening and closing the document and choosing to commit them to the next step.

Change the default job handling

Click on the drop-down menu beside 'Job Handling' and choose an option.

As can be seen in the screenshot above, there are two distinct ways of handling jobs. This option is really only seen if the same user is assigned to multiple workflow steps.

Changing the default panels

Check or un-check the boxes as appropriate to enable or disable panels in the document view.

What are panels?

Panels are the icons on the left and right of the screen when viewing a document.

The panels shown here are those seen on the left of the document.

If it is deemed necessary to restrict access to these panels, they can be removed via the 'Default Panels' option above.
