Import a Custom Dictionary

Created on 26th March 2024 at 12:46 by Jamie O'Connell

You can import your own Hunspell dictionaries to one2edit™.

Create a zip archive containing the .dic and .aff files, and upload them to a dictionary of type [Custom].

NOTE: The included Adobe® InDesign® dictionaries are not exhaustive, and many possible languages are not included.

Open the Dictionaries Dialog

Open the Dictionaries dialog via Settings > Dictionaries in the navigation menu.

Create a New Dictionary

Click New Dictionary in the action menu.

Language: [Custom]

Choose [Custom] from the Language drop-down menu, which is the last option on the list.

Fields for uploading and defining a custom dictionary appear.

Set up the Custom Dictionary

  1. Give the custom dictionary a meaningful name and description.
  2. Click the + (plus) button, and choose the Hunspell dictionary file(s) to upload (or the zip archive containing the two files).
  3. Ensure that the language code is correct.
  4. Click Save.
