Knowledge Base / Administrators – Preparing your one2edit™ v4 Workspace / Segmentation Rules - v4

Importing Segmentation Rules via SRX

Created on 20th February 2024 at 16:00 by Jamie O'Connell

Segmentation Rules are used to ensure that the text in your Adobe® InDesign® document can be translated using the translation units in your existing Translation Memory (TM).

To this end, you can import any existing segmentation rules to one2edit™ using the Segmentation Rules eXchange (SRX) standard file-format.

NOTE: You can use the supplied one2edit Default segmentation rules, but you will need to verify that they segment the text of your documents correctly.

Create a new Segmentation Ruleset

Click the + (plus) action button to create a new set of Segmentation Rules.

NOTE: The one2edit Default rules are included with your Client Workspace. These rules segment document text into sentences. However, there may be proprietary parts to your own segmentation rules that are not included (e.g. rules for splitting InDesign inline characters into their own segments, ensuring product names do not trigger a break, etc.).

Import SRX File

In the New Segmentation Rule dialog, click the Import button and select the SRX file from your local hard-drive.

Name & Save your Rules

  1. Name the new rule set.
  2. Click Save.
