How to assign Text Rule Sets to a Segment

Created on 30th January 2024 at 15:49 by Jamie O'Connell

Text Rules can be assigned to a Project, a Content Group, or to specific Segments.

This lesson shows how to assign Text Rules to a specific Segment.

NOTE: In this lesson, a Text Rule Set containing Text Rules has already been created.

Text Rule Sets field in Panel

The Content Rules (Policies) panel in the Master Document Editor contains a Text Rules field.

All Text Rules active for the selected text segment are displayed here.

The Inherit Settings box is checked by default, making the list read-only and displaying rule sets assigned at the Project or Content-Group levels.

NOTE: If the selected text segment is not in a Content Group (i.e. not assigned to a Job), nothing will be displayed here.

Assign Text Rules to Segment

  1. Uncheck the Inherit Settings box in the Text Rules field. This will allow you to edit the Text Rules for the chosen text segment
  2. Drag and drop your Text Rule Sets from the Text Rules dialog (opened via Settings > Text Rules or by double-clicking in the unlocked Text Rules field).

NOTE: You may also delete Text Rule Sets so that they are no longer assigned to the selected segment.

NOTE: Use the checkbox beside any assigned Text Rule Set to toggle that set between Enforced (checked) and Suggested (unchecked).
