How to assign Text Rule Sets to a Project

Created on 30th January 2024 at 15:48 by Jamie O'Connell

Text Rules can be assigned to a Project, a Content Group, or to specific Segments.

This lesson shows how to assign the Default Text Rules to a Project (i.e. to all Content Groups and Version Documents stemming from this Master Document).

NOTE: In this lesson, a Text Rule Set containing Text Rules has already been created.

Open Dialog via Option Menu

  1. Open the Option Menu for any Spread or Text Frame in the Structure Panel.
  2. Click the Default Text Rules option to open the dialog where you can assign Text Rules to the Project.
  3. Double-click in the Dialog to open the Text Rules dialog, or open it via Settings > Text Rules in the main navigation menu.

Drag-and-drop Text Rule Set

Drag and drop your chosen Text Rule Set to the Text Rules dialog. You may add as many rule sets as required to the Project.

NOTE: You must drag-and-drop the Text Rule Sets, not the individual Text Rules. All Text Rules in a set will be active for the Project.

Apply Changes

  1. All assigned Text Rule Sets listed will be applied to all Jobs created in this Project.
  2. If the checkbox is checked, the rules from this set will be Enforced. If the box is not checked, the rules will be Suggested. This option can override the setting in the Text Rule Set itself.
  3. Click the trashcan icon to delete a rule set from this Project.
  4. Click Apply to apply your changes.
