How to assign Text Rule Sets to a Content Group

Created on 30th January 2024 at 15:49 by Jamie O'Connell

Text Rules can be assigned to a Project, a Content Group, or to specific Segments.

This lesson shows how to assign Text Rules to a Content Group.

NOTE: In this lesson, a Text Rule Set containing Text Rules has already been created.

Content Group Details Dialog

Open the Content Group Details dialog by double-clicking the Content Group tab in the Master Document Editor.

  1. Uncheck the Inherit Settings box to make changes.
  2. Any Default Text Rules (i.e. Project-level Text Rules) that have been assigned to the project are displayed here. They can be removed, if required, so that they are no longer assigned to this specific Content Group.
  3. Double-click in the Text Rule Sets field to open the Text Rules dialog, or open it via Settings > Text Rules in the main navigation menu.

Assign Text Rules to the Content Group

  1. Drag and drop the desired Text Rule Set(s) from the Text Rules dialog.
  2. Click Save.

NOTE: Only the Text Rules shown in the Text Rule Sets field will apply to the content of this Content Group.

NOTE: The checkbox before a Text Rule Set defines if those Text Rules will be Enforced (checked) or Suggested (unchecked). To remove a Text Rule Set from this Content Group, you must click the trashcan icon beside the rule set.
