Why can I not lock some Version Documents?

Created on 07th December 2023 at 17:55 by Jamie O'Connell

Any Version Documents in a Project must be locked before the Master Document can be edited in one2edit™. This is to ensure that changes made in the Master Document do not clash with changes made directly in the Version Document.

Therefore, if a Version Document cannot be locked, it is probably already open by another user.

Click Padlock

After opening the Master Document in the editor, click the Padlock button in the upper-right corner to lock all Version Documents.

Clicking the padlock button opens the Lock Versions dialog.

An X next to a version document indicates that it is currently open by another user and cannot be locked at this time.

Clicking Lock while a Version Document is open will display error 13148.

Click Cancel to close the Lock Versions dialog instead.

Optional: Check which User has the Document open

If a document is open, the Status column for that document will contain a pencil icon.

Double-click on the document to open its Workflow.

Click the Edit button in the top-right of any Workflow track. This will attempt to open the Job as an Administrator (i.e. in Admin Mode).

If the document is already open by a user, an error message will pop up, which contains the name of the user.
