Editing Frames in the Job Editor

Created on 01st December 2023 at 12:28 by Jamie O'Connell

By default, it is not possible for users to edit frames during an editing/translation job. However, it is possible to set up Frame Rules in the master document that allow users to edit frames during a Job. If you feel that you should be allowed to edit frames, please speak to your local one2edit™ administrator.

NOTE: Only frames that contain active Job items can be edited.

NOTE: Nested frames and auto-size frames cannot be edited using one2edit.

Edit Frame

If a frame can be edited, there will be an Edit Frame option in its Frame Menu.

To open the frame menu, click the option frame's option menu in the Structure panel, or click the small triangle in the top-right corner of the frame.

Then click Edit Frame to start editing the frame's geometry.

NOTE: If no Frame Rules have been set up in the master document, the Edit Frame option will not be available, and it will not be possible for you to edit any frame geometry in your Job.

Frame-Editor Panel and Frame Handles

Editing a frame – panel and frame handles
  1. There are editing options available via the Frame Editor panel, which can be found in the upper-right corner of your window.
  2. You can use any available frame handles to manipulate the frame geometry with your mouse.

NOTE: Only those handles permitted by the Frame Rules in this Project will be available to you.

Maintain Aspect Ratio & Lock Scaling Factor

'Maintain Aspect Ratio' & 'Lock Scaling Factor'
  1. The aspect ratio for the frame (and content) can be locked using this button.
  2. The scaling factor of the text and frame can be locked using this button (i.e. as the frame grows, the content within scales in the same direction).

NOTE: Only those frame-editing options permitted by the Frame Rules in this Project will be available to you.

Apply changes to Frame

To apply changes made to the frame (or simply close the frame editor), click outside of the frame to de-select it (e.g. click on the on pasteboard, click on a different object in the document, etc.).

Alternatively, you may press the Esc key on your keyboard.
