Uploading a Document Package and Creating a Project in one2edit™

Created on 30th June 2023 at 17:49 by Jamie O'Connell

This lesson covers how to upload a zip archive containing your InDesign package (i.e. INDD/IDML, Links, and Fonts) to the one2edit™ system.

NOTE: If you are using the one2editFS client, you can drag and drop the files to your one2edit Asset Project via your file browser.

Select the Target Project Folder

Select the folder in which you want to create the project.

Upload InDesign® Package using the Asset Browser

Choose Assets from the Navigation Menu to open the Asset Browser.

The Asset Browser allows you to access your user's Asset Projects. It is to here that you upload your documents (i.e. your assets).

NOTE: All Asset Projects to which you have access are listed down the left-hand side. If none are shown, please speak to your local one2edit™ administrator.

  1. Select the Asset Project and click New Folder to create a new folder in that Asset Project.
  2. Name the folder and click Save to create the Asset Folder.

Open this new folder and click the Upload button.

You should now upload the .zip archive file containing your Adobe® InDesign® package.

Extract the Archive and Link the Project

  1. Select the recently uploaded .zip file.
  2. Click the Extract Zip button.

The compressed files will be extracted to a sub-folder with the same name as the .zip archive file.

In our example above, the extracted files will be in the folder: /The New Project/FourFashionMailer/

  1. Browse to the new folder containing the extracted files.
  2. Check that the Links folder is present (i.e. that the Links for your project were in the InDesign package)
  3. Select Link Project from the INDD-file's context menu.

This will link the document to a project in the selected Project folder (in this case, the New Department project folder).

Congratulations!

You have created a one2edit™ project from your InDesign® document!
