14. Image File Types

Designers should choose appropriate image and graphic formats. For optimal one2edit™ system performance, .jpg, .psd, and .tif are the recommended image formats. Use of vector formats such as the .eps and .ai formats (especially for photos) can negatively impact the performance of InDesign® Server.

NOTE:
Image size (dpi, dimensions, etc.) will also have an impact on performance, so use an appropriate resolution. Proxy images can be used in one2edit (instead of high-res images) in order to speed up the editing of document content. However, if a high-resolution PDF is to be generated directly from one2edit, the high-res data must be available on the system.

NOTE:
Even when an image is cropped by a frame, the one2edit system will still need to render the image in its entirety.
