Text in a Graphic

Created on 11th April 2017 at 12:20 by Jamie O'Connell

Graphics cannot be directly edited in InDesign® or one2edit™. In order for text to be a part of the translation workflow, that text must be contained within an InDesign text frame.

If a graphic contains text that will need to be localized, then there are two main options:

  1. Create localized versions of the image for each target language. The original image can then be replaced in the target-language documents.
  2. Remove the text from the graphic itself, and instead place an InDesign® text frame containing the text over the image. This will allow the text to be edited as a part of the document.
