Created on 06th June 2023 at 11:20 by Jamie O'Connell

The Translation panel is available at all times in a translation workflow.

This panel contains useful tools to help with translation work, and grants access to the Translation Memory (TM) which was assigned to the Job.

NOTE: This panels does not appear in non-translation jobs.

'Translation' Panel
  1. Language: The source and target languages of the job are displayed here. If, however, there is a completed job in the same project, it is possible to choose the target language of this completed job as a source (i.e. From) language when searching the TM in this panel.
  2. Translation
    • Translation Source: Choose the text to be translated: Source Text (the text from the master document) or Selected Text (the text currently rendered in the job). The Free Text option allows you to search the TM for any typed text.
    • Translate with: Choose between one2edit™ Translation Memory (Approved), which uses the approved TM only, and one2edit™ Translation Memory, which uses both the temporary TM and the approved TM. If a machine translation option is available on your system, it would also be shown here. When translating Free Text, you will need to click the refresh button (two arrows in a circle) to execute your TM search.
    • Translation Result: Displays any TM matches for the selected Translation Source text, along with the quality (i.e. percentage match). Green icons indicate results from the approved TM, while yellow icons indicate results from the temporary TM. Click the i (info) icon beside any translation match to open it in a dialog.
  3. Translation > Apply: Clicking this button will replace the text in the editor window with the selected TM result. If no result is selected, this button is disabled.
  4. Source Text: This field displays the Master-Document text for the selected segment. This field can help reviewers to check the original text for the selected segment against the translation. Clicking the Apply button here will update the segment to be the text from the Master Document.

NOTE: The zoom level of the Source Text field is controlled by the zoom slider in the Text Editor.
