Marking Job items as Done

Created on 06th June 2023 at 11:21 by Jamie O'Connell

This lesson will show how to mark an item as Done and commit it to the next workflow step.

Job items

Job items

Job items can be moved individually through a workflow. The progress bars in the Jobs list show the progress of these items in the Job.

Example Job in the screenshot above:

  • Total number of items in the job: 76
  • Items marked as Done: 31 (20 of these are committed for review - darker green)
  • Job items still to address (i.e. marked as New): 45

NOTE: The Overall Progress shows the same information, but for all of the user's active Jobs at once.

Marking individual Job items as Done

Marking items as "Done"

You can mark individual Job items as Done via:

  1. the Content Marker menu
  2. the text editor drop-down menu

The marker for a job item that is marked as Done turns green in both the document preview and in the Structure Panel.

NOTE: You can revert the status of items back to New using the same methods.

NOTE: The ability to add Notes is dependent on user-group permissions.

Marking multiple Job items as Done

  1. Selecting multiple Job items (or Frames, Spreads, etc.), via Shift-Click or Ctrl/Cmd-Click, displays a multi-select menu in the Structure Panel. This menu can be used to set the status for all selected items (or the content of all selected items) at once.
  2. Change the status of all items on a spread at once via the Thumbnail menu. You do not need to have the spread preview loaded at the time.

NOTE: Selecting everything in the Structure Panel allows you to set the status of all Job items at once.

Commit items to next workflow step

Commit items to next workflow step

If you are closing the Job, and there are items marked as Done, a Question dialog is displayed.

Click Yes if you are finished with those items marked Done and want to commit them to the next workflow step.

NOTE: Items that have been committed to the next workflow step are no longer available for editing at the current Workflow Step.

NOTE: This question does not appear if there are no further workflow steps to which you can commit items.
