Projects Area

This section gives an overview of the Projects area.

NOTE: This section gives high-level descriptions. For more in-depth explanations, please refer to the appropriate parts of the Knowledge Base.

Navigate to Projects Area

Navigate to Projects Area

To navigate to the Projects area, open the Navigation Menu and click Projects.

NOTE: If you are an Administrator, you will be brought to the Projects area when you log in.

NOTE: There will be a folder named Documents present by default.

Projects Area

Projects Area
  1. Project Folders: This area displays the folder-structure you create to organize your Projects. Use the Action Button to create new folders.
  2. Projects: This area displays the Projects within the selected folder. Use the Action Button to create new Projects or InDesign Books
  3. Version Documents: This area displays the Version Documents in the selected Project. Use the Action Button to create new Version Documents.

The columns for the Projects are:

  • Thumbnail: A preview thumbnail of the first spread of the document.
  • Project Name: The name of the master/source document in this project.
  • ID: The ID number of the project and master/source document.
  • Version: The text from the Version field of the Project Details dialog. This is typically blank by default.
  • Pages: The range(s) of page numbers in this document.
  • Lastedit:  The date and time of when this document was last edited.
  • Status: The status of this document.
  • Progress: A progress bar showing how far through a Workflow the document has progressed. A progress bar is only displayed if a Workflow is assigned to the document.
  • Option Menu: Click the kebab (3 vertical dots) menu in this column to open the menu for the Project.

The columns for the Version Documents are:

  • Thumbnail: A preview thumbnail of the first spread of the document.
  • Version: The text from the Version field of the Project Details dialog. This will either be Version of <master document name>, or a copy of the Version text from the master/source document.
  • ID: The ID number of the Version Document.
  • Lastedit:  The date and time of when this document was last edited.
  • Status: The status of this document.
  • Progress: A progress bar showing how far through a Workflow the document has progressed. A progress bar is only displayed if a Workflow is assigned to the document.
  • Option Menu: Click the kebab (3 vertical dots) menu in this column to open the menu for the Version Document.

NOTE: The name and version text of any document can be changed via its Properties (accessed via the document's Option Menu).

NOTE: The text from the Name field of the Version Document properties is not displayed in this area.
