Option Menus (Context Menus)

Created on 28th April 2023 at 13:29 by Jamie O'Connell

Instead of selecting an item and then choosing an option from a common menu, the HTML5 interface uses context menus attached to each item. We refer to these as Option Menus.

These Option Menus are accessed via the kebab menu (3 vertical dots) shown beside the item.

NOTE: For some items, the Option Menu dots are only shown when the mouse cursor is hovered over the item.

Folders

The dots appear when the mouse cursor is placed over the folder.

NOTE: If no dots appear, then your user may not have write access to the folder.

Clicking the dots will display the Options Menu.

  • Properties: Opens the Folder Details dialog for this folder.
  • Paste: Pastes any copied/cut project into this folder.
  • Delete: Deletes the folder.

NOTE: Folders that contain projects cannot be deleted.

NOTE: The options shown may vary, depending on your user-group privileges.

Projects and Version Documents

The Options Menus are always shown for Projects and Version Documents.

Clicking the dots will display the Options Menu for that Project.

  • Open Document: Opens the document in the Master Document Editor.
  • Create Version: Creates a Version Document for this Project.
  • Translation: Contains a sub-menu of two options: Export Content Group for Translation and Import Translations. These options are explained further in the section: Creating Jobs via XML export/import.
  • Properties: Opens the Project Details dialog for this document.
  • Check Out Document: Checks out the document. If a document is already checked out, this will change to Check In Document.
  • Reveal in Asset Browser: Reveals the InDesign document in the Asset Browser (if the user has access to the appropriate Asset Project).
  • Lock Versions: Locks the Version documents in the Project so that users cannot open/edit them.
  • Export Document: Exports the document in your chosen format (e.g. high-res PDF, InDesign Package, IDML, etc.).
  • Download LowRes PDF: Generates a low-res PDF of the document for you to download via your Notifications.
  • Duplicate: Duplicates the Project.
  • Copy: Copies the Project to paste into another Projects folder.
  • Cut: Cuts the Project from this folder to paste into another Projects folder.
  • Delete: Deletes the Project from the Workspace.

NOTE: The menu options are context sensitive, and some will only be displayed if your user has the privileges to perform the action.

Clicking the dots will display the Options Menu for that Version Document.

  • Open Workflow: Opens the Workflow view for this Version Document.
  • Workflow: Contains a sub-menu of two options: Pause Workflow (or Resume Workflow if it is already paused) and Delete Workflow.
  • Properties: Opens the Project Details dialog for this document.
  • Reveal in Asset Browser: Reveals the InDesign document in the Asset Browser (if the user has access to the appropriate Asset Project).
  • Export Document: Exports the document in your chosen format (e.g. high-res PDF, InDesign Package, IDML, etc.).
  • Download LowRes PDF: Generates a low-res PDF of the document for you to download via your Notifications.
  • Duplicate: Duplicates the Version Document within the Project.
  • Delete: Deletes the Version Document from the Project.
